Hi-

Can my cavachon be left alone and if so, for how long?

Thanks,

D.

Hi D.,

There are way too many variable to give this a definitive answer. We did not leave Kasey much when he was a puppy, and the amount time all depended on his age. He is amost 5 years old now (my how time flies) and we can leave him for 6 or more hours during the day and longer if we go out in the evening. He has been crate trained since we got him and that makes a big difference in how long you can leave them.

I have been trying to take my puppy for walks. He is now 4 months. How far can I expect him to go. Usually he does not like to go very far…. I get him to go across the street is about all.

My cavachon is one next week and I’ve had him 2 months now. The last owner brought him and his brother together but worked full time and would shut them in the garden all day, plus he was never toilet trained! He is now toilet trained and has settled in really well, but he is scared of everything especially my 7 years old son which he will run from then turn and growl and bark at him, this really worries me and don’t know what to do about it? Because he’s so scared he follows my every step being literally attached to my feet ( so have stepped on him so many times) it’s driving me mad!!! Also I’ve noticed that he really smells, is this normal for this bread?

Me and my partner have been in our first house together now for just shy of a year. I’ve grown up around dogs and have had a Westie for the last 12+ years, which is a family pet and lives at my parents house. My partner came across this breed a few weeks ago and fell in love right away. My only query/worry is that we’re out the house quite a lot during the day upto 11 hours, due to work commitments. I think we both equally want a dog, but I think I’ll be the more let down if we can’t have one due to our working hours. Would you be able to offer any advice?

My,2 year old Cavachon has recently become aggressive towards other dogs. She loves people and until recently loved other dogs. She has lots of dog friends and is very socialized. Any suggestions on how to go about stopping this before it escalates.
