How funny we named our cavachon, Charlie!

We have recently got an Apricot and White Cavachon called Dougie he is a little gem. So playful great with kids and he learns super quick. I recommend to start from the off as the are keen learners and quality time spent when they are young will pay off.
He is now 11 weeks old and is toilet trained has learnt basic commands after having him 2 weeks. One happy owner

Our cavachon was born with a brown smudge across the bridge her nose, hence we named her Smudge.

Soon we are getting a male Cavachon, we don’t have any experience with a dog and are worried that they could be too hard to train as that is what some of the comments are suggesting. Do you think it’s a good idea? Also, the one that we would get is a champagne colour, can anyone think of a good name – we like Berty and Koby. Thank you and please comment back,

Cavachons are very smart, it takes a lot of time, repetition and consistency. Please ensure you enough time to train, once you train them they are the best dogs I’ve ever own. I have a 3 year old female cavachon and just got a 12 week old male 2 weeks ago!

We both have allergies and after extensive research the Cavachon was the only way to go. I sought out a breeder who had been showing and breeding since 1962. We waited for our Ava Rose and brought her home at 11 weeks old. She was 90% potty trained and had only 3 accidents in the house before she was completely trained. She has a doggy door that leads into her own private yard, where she can come and go at her own leisure or hang in the house while we are away at work. She has completely taken over our lives! But we don’t mind. She is a gem! Sukey Kennels in Arizona,we highly recommend them!

Funny name story…I went to pick up a female Cav, and fell in love with her brother! While the breeder and I were talking, my phone rang, and my ringtone is Bob Dylan’s ” I Want You”. The breeder said Dylan fan, huh, and I looked at the pup in my lap……and the rest is history….Dylan is a great little guy, been home 2 weeks and learning fast.
Great website!

We brought our cavachon home last week and is 10 wks. We named him Sunny as he has a sunny happy personality. Training him is proving to be very easy, crating him at night leaving no room around his bed to do his business. Love having him, great new member to our family, great with our 5 and 7 yr old kids. Happy happy.

My grandma owns the first cavachon breed. She rescued her from the shelter. She named her Bridget. Poor Bridget spent her life being abused from the Amish. But now Bridget is happy and safe from harm and will live happy for the rest of her life. But she is still scared of other people and difficult for her to meet new people. She hardly ever barks and is skittish of everything.

Just had our 6 mos old Cavachon Cassie spayed on Friday and it is breaking my heart to see her suffer. Wish all these genius research scientists could come up with a less barbaric procedure. Although she has had excellent medical care and is on Rimadyl, she will only piddle once a day and has not gone #2 yet. She has a great appetite and will drink once in a while, but I can tell she is hurting. Have her resting comfortably and quietly in a doggie playpen (the best for recovery) in our bedroom. Don’t know if this is normal (vet sz ok) or what else to do for her. Have had older dogs go thru major surgeries before, but she is still a puppy. Any advice or am I overly worried?

I’ve had females spayed before, and I think I took it harder than they did! Self-limiting activity and meds are good, she’ll pick up in a day or two. Hope she’s doing fine now!

I have a 3 year old Cavachon boy called Dempey. He is the best dog ever as he is so loving, fun and affectionate. He is also undemanding but very playful. He has the Cavalleir temperament with the Bixhpn intelligence. Dempsey is an absolute darling and with his white coat and long floppy apricot ears everyone who sees him falls in love with him. His big brown eyes and button nose make him look like a teddy bear.
There sent too many around in the UK and I am often asked what he is? ! Dempsey doesn’t like long walks ,about 20 mins and he is ready to go home and this suits us. I must admit I was surprised at the amount of grooming required (costing around £30 e every 5 weeks) but this is the down side of owning a non moulting dog, but well worth it !

Bell training is amazing! All we did for my Ryder was hang up a jingle bell on a ribbon from the door handle, then call him over, grab him paw and ring the bell, then praise and let him outside. at first he would play with it, but even then, I praised him and opened the door. it took maybe a couple weeks and he smacked it on his own when he wanted out! perfect mess-free, bark-free solution!
Good luck!

I have a Cavachon that is beyond anything that I have ever expected in my life. She is so loving and has eyes to die for. I have had many dogs in my life but never one like this. She is the most wonderful animal that the powers above ever brought into this world and if you are looking for the perfect dog, then the Cavachon would be a 10 Plus. I never had children but the void that I have had in my life has been filled with my 2 year old baby Cavachon. I am so blessed to discover such a wonderful breed and now I am so spoiled. When I can,I plan to get another so they can play when I am off to see clients for my business.

We have a 4 mth old Cavachon, what a wonderful breed. So intelligent, loving, playful BUT needs constant companionship. His name is Dylan ( being a Welsh dog!) though I should have called him Shadow because he follows me everywhere. He often brings a tear to my eyes, the way he looks at me and I find he tries to talk to me…..in a strange kind of way! Just love him to bits!
